Background: Currently attention to nosocomial infections in hospitals in Indonesia is quite high.
Given nosocomial infections showed a significantly high. The high incidence of nosocomial infections in dicates the low quality of health service quality. Nosocomial infections can occur given the hospital a "shed" infectious microbial pathogens originating mainly from people with infectious diseases. On the other hand, health workers can also be a source, in addition to passing the patient's family, medical equipment and the hospital environment itself. In RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul the last two years found several cases related to the transmission of nosocomial infections especially nurses like the flu, chickenpox, cough and diarrhea and HIV.
Objective: This study aims to factors that influence the behavior of nosocomial infection prevention nurse in the Ward of RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul.
Methods: The study was a descriptive cross-sectional quantitative approach. Analysis of the data
used is simple regression test. Data collected through primary data obtained by questionnaires and
secondary data obtained through the study of literature and the study of hospital documents related to the theme of this study. The questionnaire distributed to 64 nurses who were respondents.
Result: The factors that influence the behavior factor nosocomial infection prevention nurse in the
Wa rd of Panembahan Senopati Bantul consists of knowledge and attitude. Factors influence the
knowledge and attitudes and behavior of to the prevention of nosocomial infections by hospital nurses in Ward Lotus RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul indicated by the value R of 0.922 and R2 value of 0.850 and the value of the coefficient F of 172.827. The dominant factor in influencing the behavior of the prevention of nosocomial infections in RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul is the knowledge with the greatest t count is 6.402.
