ABSTRACT

Has been done research of faction antioxidant activity of ethyl acetate and water cut from green tea ethanol extract which has been eliminated caffeine (extract dekafein) through arrest test of hydroxyl radical with deoxyribose method. Level of arrest activity of hydroxyl radical is measured with Effective Scavenging value 50 (ES50) that is level of concentration of sample required to catch hydroxyl radical counted 50%. From result of research is obtained by ES50 value faction of ethyl acetate and water faction from extract dekafein green tea successively is 0,218 magnesiums /mL and 0,231 mg/mL. This value smaller than value ES50 comparator compound ( vitamin C) that is 0,540 mg/mL, means ability of green tea to catch bigger hydroxyl radical compared to vitamin C.
