ABSTRACT

  •  Based on preliminary results of temperature and humidity measurements every room in Orthopedic Hospital of Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta was perfect, as well as with the lighting. Types of noise in the general section are categorized by intensity noise in a low voice because the room was made up of parts and household equipment, the administration and the planning and evaluation. While at the warehouse said noisy because during the measurement is still in the repair of school buildings.

Research Methods. This kind of research is to study the design assosiatif Cross Sectional Population Survey in this research is all employees of the General Directorate ranks, Human Resources and Education in Orthopedic Hospital Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta. In the year 2008 amounted to 74 people, who then retrieved a sample of 62 people. The subject of this study examined the physical work environment, non-physical (social) and the performance of staff. Physical environment was measured through direct measurements include temperature, humidity, noise and lighting. The sampling technique use purposive sampling. The method of data analysis used in this research is quantitative analysis. To measure the degrees of relationship between two variables through the correlation coefficient and coefficient of determination. Correlation Pearson-Product Moment is used to test the relationship between two variables with interval or ratio scale and the coefficient of Determination (Coefficient Determination) for determining the coefficient of variance occurs in the dependent variable can be explained by the variance of independent variables occur in the formula: R x 100%.


Conclusion. The conclusions of this study are: First, there is a positive relationship between the environment and the significant performance of staff working with the Board of the General Directorate, Human Resources and Education at Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta Orthopedic Hospital. Environment variable with the performance of staff working there is a strong relationship. Dimension in the work environment has a strong relationship is the dimension of the physical work environment. While non-dimensional physical work environment has a strong relationship.
